Still still is...

“God is judge. He lifts up one and puts down another.” Psalms 75:7.

.

Forests haven’t changed. We just came back from Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. The pines and firs are still incredibly beautiful. Deer still graze in the meadows. The rivers and waterfalls and lakes still have water and still tremendously bless people.

.

Squirrels still perform their astonishing acrobatics as they run up and down trees and leap from branch to branch. The sun still shines by day giving wildly beautiful color to flowers, the sky and sunsets…and such comfortable warmth. The moon and the stars still fill the nighttime sky with beauty while reminding us of God’s infinite power and love.

.

The same is true of the beaches. The seagulls are still making hilarious fusses. The sand still gives a wildly wonderful surface to walk and run on. The waves are still breaking for kids and moms and dads…and a whole lot of surfers who still capture a pretty sweet part of God’s creation. The sun still rises and sets on the beaches bringing astonishing beauty and variety.

More than His Creation, God still is. He still regards the nations as less than nothing and meaningless– as far as power goes.  With God NOTHING is still impossible.

.

We’ve seen some very, very beautiful things in our countries. Think of how things could be if the Caesars and not-so-great kings were still running the show. But God took little people like our Washingtons and Lincolns and so many with them–and others in other countries–and brought a whole lot of good to a whole lot of people.

.

Mordecai and Esther faced an extreme overthrow plot. Not only were they going to lose all they held dear, they were also–ALL–going to lose their lives. But the God of Daniel, Joseph, Abraham, Moses and David stepped in at just the right moment and gave them and their children–and grandchildren–some pretty amazing sweetness.

.

The Most High still rules over the realm of mankind…The God of the butterflies and hummingbirds is wildly clever and intelligent beyond belief.  He effortlessly speaks–not just suns and moons into existence–but also entire galaxies of hundreds of billions of stars…and hundreds of billions of these galaxies.

Rejoice in the God of the daisies and the roses. He says to.  Always. Why? Because His thoughts toward us are more than the sand of the seas…and He’s got this one …and every other one. Like with David, Joseph and Moses, when the time is right, watch out. Mary had her hour of trial…but when her Son broke through by a profound exertion of supernatural power, her joy was beyond belief…and so was a whole lot of other peoples’.

.

Pray, rejoice and work and rejoice some more. When the God of the daisies, roses, squirrels, moon and sun acts, things get wildly good.
