How to Fix the World with the Puppy Maker

Don Miller | Aug 8 2020

We have a new puppy named Monty…an absolutely adorable 9-week-old golden retriever. He greets you in the morning with the grandest display of tail-wagging, tongue-licking enthusiastic affection I’ve ever seen. And he is one phenomenal display of fun as he really ramps it up.

.

He chases you across the lawn doing beyond-cute bunny hops when the grass is high (3 inches). He stands you off with ferocious mini-growls when you dare to grab the tennis ball rope-toy he tugs everywhere. And this little pip-squeak takes you on twisting and pulling back with whatever treasure he’s got in his mouth intending to show you who’s really boss when you try to remove it.
.
He slurps up his water and chomps down his food….and sleeps in melt-your-heart-photo-poses. This 3-pound runt is quite a gift from His Creator to all of us.
.
The contrast between this beauty and the goofy out there in our cites and airwaves is quite striking. How do the things merge? In a pretty wonderful way.
.
The robotics involved in all Monty is and does is staggering. All the computer power in the world can’t pull off what Monty does without trying. And he’s build by a too-small-to-see code that builds all-the-stars-in-the-universe-numbers of beyond-belief molecular structures that collectively pull off his adorable antics.
.
The latest on brain-storage memory is that it is housed in momentary 3-to-11-sided polygon structures formed with spilt-second electrical traces in our brains–and Monty’s too. And over 10 million of these momentary electrical polygons are formed in thousandths of a second in every BB-sized amount of the memory storage in the grey matter in us…and in lovable puppies! Monty’s cuter than cute, yet light-years more complex than anything we’ve come up with.
.
What’s the take-home in this?
.
That God’s plenty big enough and wise enough and strong enough to take care of this world–and all of us pilgrims in it.
.

What does He want of us? To live and love well, to enjoy worship more than ever before and let Him work with power in our daily lives in ways that will surprise and shock us.

.
By ourselves we are pathetically small compared to the need-levels out there, but our collective influence–when coupled with Monty’s Maker– is enough to take it all on and bring beauty out all over the place.
.
The COLLECTIVE INFLUENCE of those living the moments well with the God of Monty–and the universe–has beyond-comprehension power because the One who is wisely leading the charge is going to get every ounce of His intentions done. And NOTHING can stop the Maker of Monty…and all things.
.
So get more happily engaged in all His ways for you and buckle up; we’re going to have one wild God-ride.
.
And keep your praise ever present… and really exuberant. You serve the Maker of Monty…and every star over your head.
.
“I will give You thanks with all my heart;
I will sing praises to You…and give thanks to Your name
for Your lovingkindness and Your truth.”
–Psalms 138:1,2
Monty is part of that lovingkindness!
