We Loved It!

There is so much to love in this course! We’re enjoying the variety of ways to learn about the topic, and we love the way it points to the Creator!

The videos were highly entertaining and fast-paced. Information was shared in an easy-to-understand way that just made sense. And it was fascinating stuff. We learned about sinuses, airplanes, birds, why dogs drool and cats sip, hummingbirds, carburetors, box fish, and penguins. We read books, tried experiments, and went on field trips. What fun! There were constant reminders that God is our Creator!

The biggest dilemma we encountered using CWS was a positive one. Using CrossWired Science, we get carried away and spend far more time studying science than our schedule typically allows. Inspired by the materials on the website, the girls want to keep on going.
To avoid spending an entire school day on this fascinating subject, I try to save science for the last subject of the day. After all, we need to cover English, math, and history as well!
It’s been amazing to see my girls’ love for science come alive as I’ve allowed them to think outside the textbook. After spending an entire month, we haven’t finished our first unit yet, but the twins are still learning new things.
Each unit is structured around a main topic which relates to a variety of scientific disciplines. At the same time, it allows freedom and gives direction to encourage students to explore other areas of interest through delight-directed learning.

Right now it’s at the ground floor and with only the 2 Global Topics of Sound, and Fluid Dynamics, I think you would be set for 3 even 4 months of integrated science. It is a very flexible and thorough program. If you have a science lover, then this is the program for you!

So, what did we think? I bet you can already guess that we loved it! I am such an eclectic homeschooling Mom! I like different things, to shake up the boring week with fun and educational videos or activities. Who doesn’t want to tour an aquarium or cave? Or see the 3-lobed liver in a shark. Kaden also likes that most of the work is online.

Core Videos: Mia loves the core videos. They help her to learn independently as she watches the videos and works through the Sound worksheets. The videos vary from length but under fifteen minutes. I can see my daughter’s enthusiasm in wanting to learn more! I give these core videos a thumbs up because they help me to facilitate learning more in-depth.

Our experience with this company has been wonderful and we look forward to watching them develop and grow as they continue to create content and programming on their website!
The CrossWired Science program is a wonderful curriculum that can be used as a full science program or as a supplement to your regular program as you choose.

The favorite subject in our household is science. My boys love learning about the world around them and exploring through tactile, hands-on experiments. When we had the opportunity to review the Fluid Dynamics and Sound portion of the CrossWired Science site, we were excited to get started.
